The Next Big Thing Blog Hop
My friends, today I’m talking about my next novel, The Tenth Plague, which is due for release on January 15, 2013. This is part of the Next Big Thing “blog hop”—where authors present their latest work-in-progress, with the hope it will spark your interest and cause you to “hop” from blog to blog to learn more.
I was invited to this blog hop by Dave Fessenden — check out his Next Big Thing at his blog: fromconcepttocontract.com.
So, without further ado, here is my self-interview about my novel (a disclaimer: I did not choose these questions!):
What is the working title of your book?
The Tenth Plague
Where did the idea come from for the book?
“I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book” (Rev. 22:18-19).
What genre does your book fall under?
Christian suspense/thriller
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I’d frankly prefer not to bias readers as to whom characters should look like before they read the novel.
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Marc and Gillian Thayer must stop a killer, who is using the biblical ten plagues as a playbook for revenge.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Neither. Kirkdale Press (Logos) will be publishing the novel as an e-book.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
About one year. Then it morphed over another six months. I don’t typically write/rewrite my novels quickly. They seem to get better when I give them time to grow.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Shoefly Pie by Tim Downs, The Pawn by Steven James
Who or What inspired you to write this book?
One day I was reading the Bible passage mentioned above, and the idea came to me.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
I’ve woven together several story threads: unresolved bitterness from an old hurt, a controversial Bible project, an autistic boy who can seemingly predict the future, mystery surrounding an old abandoned mine, a father’s obsession to find justice, and yes, water turns to blood. There—how’s that?
Thanks for reading. I hope that next week you’ll visit my friend, Rick Barry, and learn about his latest work-in-progress. His blog: http://rickbarry.blogspot.com/

Very good. Will send on to my FB. Love you
Thanks, Mom! Love you.
Wow, with only a few tweak, your oourney to publication sounds almost exactly like mine. Eerie! (cue the Twighlight Zone music…)
Thanks for writing, Suzanne. I’ll have to check out your background. I thought mine was pretty unique.

Can you add a Blackberry template? This web page is tricky to read otherwise for those of us browsing with cell phones. Otherwise, in the event you can place a RSS link up, that would be good also. beedecddcfff
